We are passionate about reading, and connecting children to new authors and their books. So we are launching a reading scheme and award for primary schools to join in with. This Year's Shortlist
These books are our favourites - but which is yours? All of them are by first time authors and published in during 2023 for readers in year 3 to 6.
How to get involved
The Brilliant Book Award goes to the favourite book as decided by children. Read the books and vote for the ones you like the best.
About the choices
All of the books we have chosen are from first time authors of fiction for 8 to 11 year olds. This was to broaden horizons and put a spotlight on authors who are not on your reading lists.
